Gabriel Ruiz

A triple Bruin with a B.A. in Economics ('99), MLIS ('10), and Anderson Executive Program ('14), Gabriel Ruiz has spent over 26 years at UCLA, rising from student IT worker to CTO & Director of Infrastructure & IT Operations within Anderson Computing & Information Services (ACIS). He leads a dedicated IT team alongside Anderson's broader technology leadership, ensuring technology runs seamlessly and enables faculty, staff, and students to do their best work, while championing generative AI adoption across the school. A longtime advocate for the UCLA IT community, he served on the BruinTech Executive Board from 2014 to 2018, including a term as President (2016–17) 

He is passionate about building bridges between faculty research and IT, believing that the most impactful work happens when brilliant researchers and dedicated technologists solve hard problems together.
